This sermon series invites us into the season of Advent, a time in the Christian calendar that helps us refocus our hearts on Jesus—His arrival, His presence with us, and His promised return. The word Advent means “coming” or “arrival,” and it calls us to awaken to the reality of Christ in our lives.

Across four weeks leading up to Christmas, churches often light candles representing hope, love, joy, and peace—virtues Jesus brings to the world. Advent is a time to reflect on the humility of Jesus’ birth and to look forward with anticipation to His return, when Heaven and Earth will be fully reunited.

More than tradition, Advent is an invitation to be spiritually awakened and realigned with what God is doing in us and in the world.
